Well, who invited November so soon? I bet you are wondering where I have been and what has happened here at the studio. The studio is doing great, new yarns and exciting products are appearing all the time. The newest class listings have been made so get your calendars and call today to reserve your spot!
First and foremost, Knitting Fairy Yarn Studio is going on the road to the Kid N Ewe and Llamas too in Boerne, Tx. We are thrilled to be a vendor there again this year and you will find us in the same location – directly across the walkway from Brooks Farm Yarns! Yes – if you come to the KnE you get us crazies here at Knitting Fairy along with the yummy goodness that is BFY. Have you made your room reservations yet?! Because of the roadshow, the studio will be closed for shopping from November 11th through November 17th. We will re-open for business on Thursday November 18th. There will be NO Drop-in Knitting class on November 11th and there will be no Stitchin’ at the Studio on November 15th.
Ever heard the expression “While the cat’s away, the mice will play”? Yup, you guessed it! While Betty Kay, John, Brad, Meagan and I make the pilgrimage to Boerne, Jean will be here holding a special class.
This special class will start on Thursday, November 11th at 7pm and go until 9pm. You get Friday to knit on your clogs before coming back on Saturday, November 13th at 1pm until 3pm to finish up and get advice on felting your new beauties. The cost of the class is $40, pattern, needle and materials are not included. We have a brand new shipment of Naturespun Worsted on the truck headed our way so you will have a great selection of colors to choose from. As always, the class must be paid for at the time of registration and class fees are non-refundable unless we can fill your spot. Because of the trip to Boerne the shop will be empty, so be sure to purchase any materials you will need before November 11th. Call the shop at (214)412-2889 to sign up, space is limited!
As a reminder, we also have our Tips and Techniques class coming up on December 11th and 18th from 1-3pm. The cost is $30/person. This class covers everything from casting on to binding off using different techniques and will help you learn what to use and where to use it to make your knitting more polished looking. Taught by Alissa Barton.
Another popular class is Alissa’s Don’t Despair, Repair! class which will be held on January 22 and 29 from 1-3 pm. The cost is $30/person. Alissa will cover different snafus that occur while knitting and how to fix them along with how to fix your sweater once it is finished and a sadness happens causing holes in your hand-knits.
There will be more classes coming, stay tuned for further announcements.
Now, where have *I* been for the month of October? No only am I the Knitting Fairy, but I have a dark side that comes out every fall. I am the assistant producer of Texas Scaregrounds. You will have noticed that I don’t come out much in the daylight from the middle of September until November 1st. My whole family volunteers there and I have hundreds of the scariest family members you can imagine!
This is Meagan in her role as Siren. I don’t know about you but she gives me nightmares!
