Notes from the Fairy

October 23, 2018

Happy Halloween, well, almost. I’m rushing to get caught up with everything as I return from a wonderful trip to Colorado and prepare to leave to Michigan.

The Lamb’s on the Run Retreat in Breckenridge, Colorado was simply fabulous! You can see some pictures of my adventures on my Instagram (I’m @TheKnittingFairy). I had so much fun visiting with all the attendees, sponsors and teachers. Jennifer Miller of Theodora’s Pearls, Mary Carol Jehns of the Lamb Shoppe in Denver, and Cindy Hallam truly went out of their way to see that everyone had a memorable time. A huge thank you to each and I look forward to seeing my Colorado friends again soon.

Registration is now open for Theodora’s Advent Calendar Mystery Knit Along. You need to contact Jennifer Miller if you would like to join us! I am pleased to be the designer for this holiday fun and I have been working furiously writing patterns, test knitting, and filming segments for each clue. This will be a rectangular wrap, knit in luxury wool based yarns from Theodora’s Pearls. There will be 4 “gifts”, one to open each week of Advent. Each clue will be electronically delivered to you on each Sunday of Advent and each will feature “How-to videos” to help make your holidays a bit easier.

Registration for the Winter Fun Retreat is NOW OPEN! Don’t miss this chance to come play with your tribe, learn some new tricks and buy some marvelous goodies.

Did you happen to catch the class listings for FiberFest? The registration is not yet open, so this is the perfect time to start planning what you would like to take. I am thrilled to be teaching a FULL LOAD of classes for the first time in a very long time. Fiber Fest is so very near and dear to me and I can’t wait to be there.

Speaking of excitement- so much excitement! I am teaching for Craft Cruises in September 2019, sailing along the East Coast, admiring the fall foliage and knitting, knitting, knitting! I hope you can join me, this is going to be such a great trip. 12 days sailing along the East coast of Canada and the USA, visiting beautiful ports and taking classes on-board. This promises to be a trip unlike anything I’ve ever done!

Book news: Knitting with Bamboo Yarn has been very well received, thank you to everyone  who has supported me in this! The physical books are available for purchase through me as well as through several shops or you can buy the ebook through Ravelry.

Pattern of the month:
Fairy Tale Romper

I am off to catch a plane to teach at a Skeins on Main in Rochester, Michigan. Look me up if you happen to be in the area. I’ll also be doing a trunk show and book signing at SoM during their Shop Hop on November 10th.

Knit on!
