Dream in Color

  • Posted on May 14, 2013 at 5:52 pm

We are always looking for something fun, so when Dream in Color dropped us an email last week it seemed like the perfect time to reorder some Smooshy. We love Smooshy! It’s 100% Superwash Merino and 100% yummy. Since we were already ordering, some Starry jumped in the box too, you gotta love yarn friends! Starry is 98% Superwash Merino and 2% Lurex (That’s a fancy word for SHINEY). Wanna see? Of course you do…
Dream in color Smooshy and StarrySee, it’s the super pretty stuff in the middle shelf!

So, if you are looking for some fun, summertime one-skein projects come check out the latest from Dream in Color (we have patterns too).

VaVaVoom!

  • Posted on February 21, 2013 at 6:07 pm

Mary, Butterfly Girl, is coming to teach a class on spinning art yarns on March 3rd.

Va Va Voom – How to incorporate add-ins to your yarn – Wheel only – 2 hours – class limit 5 – Intermediate – Must know how to use your wheel and must have some experience with spinning and plying – Ever wanted to add beads or sequins to your yarns? Ever wondered what ribbons or felted bobbles would look like? Feathers anyone??? This class will explore different methods for adding other things to your yarn to give it even more pizazz. – Would be best if student has jumbo flyer with a large orifice for adding felted items, however, even if the student doesn’t have a wheel that will allow felted items to go through, the student can still learn the way to add these items in for later reference. – Student should bring 4-6 ounces of fiber to class – Cost $20 – Kit fee $ 18: includes add-ins to be used in class  NO HOMEWORK!

Call the shop today at (214)412-2889 to reserve your spot.  Space is limited!

Surprise Trunk Show

  • Posted on January 30, 2013 at 1:07 pm

Sherry just left and left a little something behind!
Isn’t it lovely? This is a full rack of Tenino, the lastest yarn from our friends at Brooks Farm Yarn. Tenino is the yarn you got to sample first at our Anniversary Party/ Yarn Tasting. Named Tenino by Liz Grigorian, our lucky Name the Yarn contest winner. Tenino is 50% Merino 50% Tencel and 100% wonderful! The merino gives it a lovely softness and the Tencel makes it shine like silk. Each skein has 6.5oz (400 yds!) and sells for $30. Sorry, no discounts may be applied towards this special trunk show. The Trunk show is available through the end of February, but the best selection is NOW. Be sure to make plans to come by and see for yourself, because really – nothing beats seeing and feeling it in person!

All sale yarns are 40% off the original price. There is still good stuff there, so come on down and see what needs to come live with you.
