Book Signing, Trunk Show – Lots of fun!

Are you a crafter who likes books? Do you listen to podcasts or audio books? Then chances are you have already heard of Heather Ordover, hostess of CraftLit.  If you have not you are missing out, believe me!  Lucky for you (and ME!) we have a chance to meet Heather in person AT KNITTING FAIRY!!! Yes, Heather is coming to teach for both the Handknitter’s Guild of North Central Texas and the Dallas Hand Knitters Guild in two weeks and  she has agreed to come do a book signing here at Knitting Fairy as well! So, mark your calendar now for Thursday, September 13th from 7-9pm and plan to be here.  Heather will be signing copies of her latest book What Would Madame DeFarge Knit (vol 1) (or any of the other books in which her work has appeared) and mixing with all us FABULOUS DFW knitters, crocheters and otherwise bookishly crafty folks.

In addition (as if that were not fantastic enough) Lise Wilson of Knitting Rose will be doing a trunk show at the same time, offering her hand-dyed yarns for sale.

Knitting Rose Yarns is a small yarn company based out of Keller, Texas.  This one woman show, run by Lise Wilson, specializes in hand dyed buffalo and super wash sock yarns. Lise traveled with Heather to London, Bath & Wales and got color inspirations from the lovely scenery.  Come see some of her unusual color blends and fibers.  Budding Sock yarn is a blend of bison fiber and super wash merino. This fingering weight yarn creates a soft luxurious fabric with inner strength.  Blossom sock yarn is a blend of superwash wool and nylon. This fingering weight yarn creates a strong durable fabric with just the right touch of softness.  Both yarns are perfect for warm socks, gloves and hats.  The soft light textures are also ideal for fashionable scarves and other fashion accessories.
Make plans to join us Thursday, September 13th from 7-9pm.  Lise’s wonderful yarns will be here the whole week but Heather is a one night only appearance.  Don’t miss it!
