We had a great time at our first meeting of the Knitting Fairy Book Club yesterday! We read Casting Off by Nicole R. Dickson. Betty Kay did a great job leading us through a discussion of the book and ganseys, traditional or otherwise. I find myself wanting to knit cables.
August’s selection is The Beach Street Knitting Society and Yarn Club. We are meeting the last Thursday of the month, so August 26th, from 1-2pm. It’s a great opportunity to read a good book, bring your knitting and enjoy the community of knitters that gather here at Knitting Fairy.
Tonight is Drop In Knitting class from 7-9pm. Bring any project and get help for just $10!
Saturday we will begin our sock knitting class. This is the first of three sessions and we have only one slot available in this class. Call or come by the studio today to reserve your spot.

We have been working like crazy since our return from Michigan, trying to make this new space our home. The front entry has a fireplace, nice and cozy! Today the guys worked at putting up our slat walls so I can hang needles. It’s looking good. Just a few more hooks…
The yarn room is shaping up nicely and with more boxes on the way it should soon be bursting at the seams.
I did manage to bring back some nifty new hand-dyed yarns from Patrice at the Accidental Knitter. If you have never worked with her yarns you are in for quite a treat!
I have saved the very best for last… our new – GIGANTIC classroom! We will have plenty of space for class and then some.
We are having a party on July 10th to celebrate our Grand Opening! Please come by, enjoy some good food and check out the new digs for yourself. We will be here from 12-5pm. The food will be served starting at noon until it runs out. There will be some special surprises too… Hope to see you there.

Cost: $45
When: Saturday August 14, 21, and 28 1-3pm
Class size is limited to 6, sign up now! Payment for classes is due upon registration. Class fees are 100% refundable if you cancel before July 31st. After July 31st we will refund your class fee if we can fill your spot.
There are no make-up classes. If you must miss a class there is no discounted rate. We will, however, be happy to help you finish your project during regular studio hours.

This is the day! Knitting Fairy is moving into our new home today, well tonight after class. I am and will be here at the studio all day, class will be on as usual from 7-9pm and THEN… the work force arrives. They will pick up the studio and deposit it two buildings down from our current location. Our new suite will be 1904, everything else remains the same.
I will be there (1904) tomorrow, Friday, from 12-5pm as usual. You will likely find me sorting through things and putting stuff to rights but the studio will be open and I would love to see you.
Saturday, June 19th is World Wide Knit in Public day. Our new digs feature a lovely shaded lawn out back, so feel free to bring a chair and join us for WWKIPday. We will have the new studio all open for you to enjoy and there is also plenty of room inside for folks to escape the heat if the outdoors is just beastly. I will have lemonade and iced tea, feel free to bring snacks.
Stitchin’ at the Studio on Sunday will be in our new location as well, so make plans to come by Knitting Fairy this weekend and see what’s happening.

Our Entrelac Baby Blanket. Now that the original has gone to it’s home and awaiting the arrival of Alicia next month it is time to make another from display.
Or maybe it will be a top down baby cardigan out of Perfection DK, or maybe an Iris Baby Dress out of Tatamy DK. Any are likely given the number of new arrivals expected among the friends of the Fairy! At least Baby knitting makes for good summer knitting.
