KFEntrelacBabyBlanketThursdays mean the Knitting Fairy Yarn Studio is open for business.  We have a drop in knitting class from 7-9pm, hope you can join us.  What will Alissa be knitting? Likely it will be this:

Our Entrelac Baby Blanket.  Now that the original has gone to it’s home and awaiting the arrival of Alicia next month it is time to make another from display.

Or maybe it will be a top down baby cardigan out of Perfection DK, or maybe an Iris Baby Dress out of Tatamy DK.  Any are likely given the number of new arrivals expected among the friends of the Fairy!  At least Baby knitting makes for good summer knitting.

In the press!

I had a fabulous day with my family for Mother’s Day, I hope you did too.  This week we are back to our regularly scheduled events, Drop-in Knitting on Thursday from 7-9pm and Stitchin’ at the Studio on Sunday from 1-4pm.  Details on these events can be found in earlier posts this month.

CounterspellWhat’s new? I have been chosen to design and teach a shawl especially for the Dallas Handknitters Guild.  This shawl will be lace with an option for beading and will be presented in 4 programs, September, October, November and December.  I will post more on the details of each program as the dates draw nearer but for now I am busy swatching and designing.  Eventually, this pattern will be released as a Knitting Fairy pattern both for yarns we carry and Brooks Farm Yarn so if you are NOT a member of the DHKG (and why aren’t you a member?!) then hang in there, you can get yours too- but not until 2011!

Other news… Knitting Fairy is pleased to be the sponsor of Stitch It! podcast for the month of May.  To enter to win you must donate to the podcast and your name will be entered into a drawing to win a shawl kit for our Counterspell shawl.  Meghan does a fantastic job, we love her and we know you will too! Give her a listen and enter to win!!!

Thursday night Knit

  • Posted on April 14, 2010 at 11:34 pm

Due to demand, I will now be offering a Thursday night knit class at the studio from 7-9pm.  Email or call ahead, or drop by for help on your current project.  Our first Thursday night knit will be tomorrow, April 15th.  Any knitting project is welcome!  For now, drop ins are very welcome.  Seating is limited, so if we get busy that may have to change.  The cost for this class is $10/night.

Of course, you are welcome to shop the showroom while you are there.  Even if you don’t want to stay for class, the showroom will be open and our full selection of needles/yarn and yarny goodness is waiting for you.

I can’t wait to see you there!

Matadora is a cute cropped sweater that is knit from the top down, perfect for your first sweater or just for something quick and fun.  Made with worsted weight yarn and a #8 needle, sized to fit chest sizes 36″, 40″ and 44″.

Both patterns are available as pdf downloads or as printed patterns at our online store: www.KnittingFairy.com

Just as a reminder: We are Stitchin’ at the Studio tomorrow, March 7th from 1-4pm.  Hope to see you there!
