It’s here! Well… almost.

  • Posted on July 6, 2011 at 6:02 pm

Tomorrow starts the big event, but I wanted to give you a sneak peek.  Ever wonder what might happen if yarn folks took over the world? Well, for my husband and his photography studio this dream (nightmare?) has come true!  Yes, we knocked out a few walls and filled it to the brim with yarny-goodness.
Studio take-over!

(ok, so we didn’t really KNOCK out walls… but we moved them)
There are more yarns for the yarn tasting in the boxes that came today… more boxes due tomorrow (hey, if it gets here before 6pm then it isn’t too late!) and tonight I am stuffing goody bags. (no sneak peek on those, sorry)

I am also told that Mr. John has been busily cooking brisket, pulled pork and German potato salad for Saturday… there are hot dogs and chips too and the desserts are beginning to arrive.  I might have accidentally dashed into the popcorn store for a treat too.  And, there will be cookies.  Yes, life is good!!!

Anniversary Party – Yarn Tasting

  • Posted on July 4, 2011 at 2:50 pm

Are you ready? We are! We are hosting a Yarn Tasting this coming Thursday evening (July 7th) from 6-9pm.  You do not need to be here at straight up 6 to play, just arrive when you wish.  There are a ton of new yarns for you to test drive, goodies to sample and fun to be had.  We will be doing door prize drawings during the event, Grand Prize is a Signature Circular Needle! You need not be present to win, but you do need to come in during the event and fill out your entry form.  Of course, there are other prizes too…

We will have an entire show booth FULL of yarn from our friends at Brooks Farm Yarn and a sampling from the good folks at Buffalo Gold too!  You are not going to believe what we can do to a photography studio with yarn… (hehehe, poor Brad.) Yes, we are taking over his side of the building and turning it into MORE YARN SHOP for the weekend.  Ever wonder if fiber people could take over the world? This may be the start!

The lovely Sarah Vendel will be here representing several of the companies we carry in the shop.  She can’t wait to meet you and answer your questions! She is bringing a trunk show of the designs from the Debbie Macomber line of yarns and other goodness from Universal Yarns.

There is going to be so much to see and do that you are going to want to come back.  GOOD! We will be stitchin’ at the studio on Friday from 12-5, basking in the afterglow of the yarn tasting and gearing up for the BBQ on Saturday, but more on that tomorrow…

Prize winners will be notified and have 30 days to pick up their prizes.

Anniversary Celebration

  • Posted on June 19, 2011 at 12:21 pm

Dear Friends,

It is amazing to realize that our little yarn shop is about to celebrate it’s first anniversary of being open to the public.  My family and I would like to take a moment to thank you for helping me realize my dream and joining us in this amazing adventure that is owning your own business.  In honor of the anniversary we will be having a week-long celebration July 7, 8, 9 and 10 during regular business hours. To help us celebrate we will have special vendors for this week only.  Our very good friends at Brooks Farm Yarn and Buffalo Gold are setting up to show you their wares.  This place is going to be ROCKIN’!

On Thursday July 7th from 6-9pm we will be having our very first Yarn Tasting! We are super excited about this, we have been getting yarns from various vendors for our special customers to try.  We are trying to decide on our fall line-up of yarns and this is your opportunity to take them for a test spin and let us know what you think we should carry! I have goodie bags for the first 60 people (knitters and crocheters!) and THERE WILL BE DOOR PRIZES!  The grand prize for the weekend will be a pair of Signature Circular Knitting Needles!!! (you may choose the size from our inventory) Ron at Buffalo Gold has promised us a special surprise as well, yum.

On Friday July 8th everyone is invited to come, shop and play with us.  More door prizes!

On Saturday July 9th we are inviting everyone to our Open House and BBQ! Yes, Mr. John will be firing up the bbq and cooking up the good stuff.  So come hungry and bring your wallets because our good friends at Brooks Farm Yarn will be here as well with their ENTIRE show set up all weekend!!! I am telling you, we live right here at Chez Fairy.

On Sunday July 10th we will be Stitchin’ (and shoppin’!) at the Studio.  Bring your project or buy a new one, grab a friend and come on down! Door prizes will be awarded, of course.

Btw, here at Knitting Fairy we like to give things away, so while you do need to come to the shop to enter the drawing for door prizes you need not be present to win when we draw your name.  We will post a list of winners at the shop and you will be notified by phone or email if you have won.  You will have 30 days to pick up your prize.

Thank you for helping our first year be so successful and we look forward to sharing many more with you.
